>Sing You Home

>I stayed in tonight to finish reading the new book by Jodi Picoult, who is one of my favorite authors.  As I said to M when she tried to persuade me to go out, I’d choose a good book over a loud bar any day.  I started it on Thursday and stayed up way too late that night reading it- so today I didn’t start until I’d finished studying.  The last time I took a study break to read a book, I never got back to studying.
The premise of the book is basically: If a couple tries and fails in vitro fertilzation, has leftover embryos, gets divorced, and the woman turns out to be gay and wants to use the embryos with her new partner- who gets them?  Of course, the ex husband is a born again right wing christian, which adds a layer of complexity to the legal situation.
The first half of the book was good, but the second half, which I read tonight instead of going out with my friends, was riveting- all of Jodi Picoult’s books are this way; many of them center around a complex moral situation- though in most of her books I’m able to see where both sides are coming from.  In this case, I’m way too liberal to sympathize with the right wing anti gay rights characters that are the opposing side.*

Has anyone read it?  Any other book recommendations?  Since my mother and I got our Kindles in June, I’ve read 72 books- mostly over the summer and winter break- but I still read a book on average every 10 days, so I’m always looking for recommendations.  At least until April 25 where I give up reading til after the boards.

*if you don’t agree with this, that’s fine- but at least disagree respectfully.
